"Get lots of FREE TRAFFIC
  to your web site."

"Incoming links will greatly increase
  your search engine rankings."
Do you ever wonder why your site doesn't receive the traffic you believe it deserves?  Why the only people visiting your web site are your current customers and your friends?

Where are all those new customers your web designer promised you?

Everyone wants to believe that the search engines will crawl their web site and poof... like magic... they'll appear at the top of the results for their keywords.  Unfortunately, it hardly ever works out that way.

So let's focus on one of the very few things that will greatly increase your site's free traffic.  Now I'm going to keep this really simple...

Get as many incoming links to your web site as possible!

That's it, the secret is out.  Incoming links are like votes—the more links your web site has, the more votes it has to be number one—the "authority" on your subject matter.

But first things first...

Before you go looking for incoming links make sure your web site is completely done... the right way.  Your web pages should be filled with easy to read content, lots of information people are searching for.

Make sure your keywords were selected from your visitor's perspective, and that all of your meta tags, particularly your title and description, are working together.

All done? Good... now get busy getting links into your site.  But remember one thing...

Quality always beats quantity

The more links you have coming into your site from other web sites, the higher you will climb in the search engine rankings but, not all links are created equal.

Links from more popular web sites are generally weighted heavier than links from less popular sites.

Search engines have gotten much smarter, they now know that most good content is related. Therefore links from sites with content relevant to your web site are much more important than links from sites that are irrelevant.

Getting non-reciprocal links

Non-reciprocal, one-way links to your site are far better than reciprocal links:
  • Non-reciprocal links carry more weight with search engines, as they aren't reciprocated (search engines can detect whether links are reciprocal).

  • They don't have to be monitored as closely as reciprocal links.  With reciprocal links you must be on the lookout for unethical webmasters who will take links down.

  • Reciprocal links bleed Page Rank from your site to other sites, which can lower your search rankings. Avoid link exchanges unless the other site has tremendous traffic.
These are far from the only benefits of non-reciprocal links, but they are three of the most important reasons why you should try to get as many one-way incoming links as possible.

How many links do you need?

Your work at link building should never end. The good news is that as your site becomes more of an authority on your subject matter, many web sites will link to you on their own.

Meanwhile, you have three options when it comes to building incoming links: hire someone, don't worry about it, or do it yourself.
  • The first option is a good one, but it can get costly.  The best thing you can do is budget for it up front.

  • The "don't worry about it option" doesn't cost a thing but, without incoming links your web site will die a slow lonely death.

  • The "do it yourself option" takes both time and money.  If you choose this option, get some coaching in link building.  You'll more than recover the cost by avoiding many time consuming mistakes.
Success in life comes through building and sustaining both personal and professional relationships.  We quickly learn that each good connection leads to another and in a short time we have a valuable network.

Remember, the Internet is a collection of links with each site pointing to other sites.  You must build links to your site for your Internet business to achieve its goals.

While this can be a very time-consuming endeavor, it will more than pay you back over time.
